GOP - RIP

It looks like the handwriting is on the wall. Get ready for at least 4 more years of craziness. Pray! God is still sovereign and merciful, he raises one up and puts down another.

I am no prophet and have not heard any voices, but expect to see some things happen soon. You don't need extended powers to see this coming; just open your eyes!
- If we continue with the making of war and expanding the empire, we will soon be returning to a draft. Where else will they get the soldiers?
- All the insane spending and printing of fiat currency will come home to roost in an economic crisis like we have not seen before in America.
- Civil liberties will continue being set aside in the interest of the "greater good". We've already lost habeas corpus, freedom of speech, privacy, warrant less searches, wiretaps, and the list goes on.
- What is there to prevent the declaration of Martial Law? After all; we are at war! Don't say that it can't happen here. All the president has to do is sign his name and we could have US troops patrolling your street.

I hope that I'm wrong and just being gloomy and scary. I hope I'm just a conspiracy nut and there's really nothing wrong. I pray that God will continue to show mercy on us and bring a revival. Turn the hearts of people back to God.

Ron Paul Cosponsors "Combat Veterans Debt Elimination Act"

(PressMediaWire) Washington, DC Feb. 06, 2008

Congressman Ron Paul has signed on as a cosponsor of legislation that would prohibit the Secretary of Veterans Affairs from collecting certain debts owed to the United States by members of the Armed Forces and veterans who die as a result of an injury incurred or aggravated on active duty in a combat zone.

If a service member dies in combat and has received Montgomery GI benefits, his or her surviving family members are required to repay those loans.

So far the VA has attempted to recover over $56,000 from the families of 22 deceased service members, with the bulk of the money owed in the form of college loans.

“This practice is an outrage and adds insult to injury to our fallen war heroes. They have given their lives in service to their country and they deserve better than this,” stated Congressman Paul.

Three of the 22 cases of this occurred in the State of Texas, which is more than any other state.

Introduced by Representative Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) H.R. 5148, The Combat Veterans Debt Elimination Act would wipe the slate clean for these grieving families, giving them the peace of mind that the sacrifice their loved one made on behalf of a grateful nation is honored.

McCain? - Never!

There are many reasons why I will NEVER lend my support in any way to John McCain. McCain/Feingold and Immigration come to mind quickly.
Just in case you don't remember his involvement in stopping the further investigation of POWs & MIAs. Visit the Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain website and watch the videos. I don't know why most war heroes shy away from talking about their experience, but I note with some curiosity McCain's use of his POW experience to market himself for the presidency.

I watched him address the CPAC yesterday. He didn't even attend last year. But now he wants to kiss and make up. He wants us to forget all the times he has sided against conservatives. I choose not to forget.

I was disappointed yesterday when Romney dropped out of the race. Not that I wanted to vote for him; but he would have been a better option than the current front runner. Maybe things are worse than I thought. If this is the best the R's can do then we are in big trouble. I keep waiting for them to notice the one true conservative in the race.

THE UNANIMOUS
DECLARATION
OF THE
THIRTEEN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

WHEN, in the Course of human Events, it becomes necessary for one People to dissolve the Political Bands which have connected them with another, and to assume, among the Powers of the Earth, the separate and equal Station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's GOD entitle them, a decent Respect to the Opinions of Mankind requires that they should declare the Causes which impel them to the Separation.

HE has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public Good.

HE has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing Importance, unless suspended in their Operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

HE has refused to pass other Laws for the Accommodation of large Districts of People, unless those People would relinquish the Right of Representation in the Legislature, a Right inestimable to them, and formidable to Tyranny only.

HE has called together Legislative Bodies at Places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the Depository of their public Records, for the sole Purpose of fatiguing them into Compliance with his Measures.

HE has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly Firmness his Invasions on the Rights of the People.

FOR taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:

FOR suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with Power to legislate for us in all Cases whatsoever.

HE has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection, and waging War against us.

HE has plundered our Seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our Towns, and destroyed the Lives of our People.

HE is, at this Time, transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to complete the Works of Death, Desolation, and Tyranny, already begun with Circumstances of Cruelty and Perfidy, scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous Ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized Nation.

HE has constrained our Fellow-Citizens, taken Captive on the high Seas, to bear Arms against their Country, to become the Executioners of their Friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.

HE has excited domestic Insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the Inhabitants of our Frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known Rule of Warfare, is an undistinguished Destruction, of all Ages, Sexes, and Conditions.

IN every Stage of these Oppressions we have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble Terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated Injury. A Prince, whose Character is thus marked by every Act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the Ruler of a free People.

NOR have we been wanting in Attentions to our British Brethren. We have warned them, from Time to Time, of Attempts by their Legislature to extend an unwarrantable Jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the Circumstances of our Emigration and Settlement here. We have appealed to their native Justice and Magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the Ties of our common Kindred to disavow these Usurpations, which would inevitably interrupt our Connexions and Correspondence. They too have been deaf to the Voice of Justice and of Consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the Necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the Rest of Mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.
