I loved this cartoon. It so clearly illustrates how you can't trust either the D's or the R's. You need to look at the person and what they stand for. Am I just talking to myself? Does anybody else get it?

John Malcolm - Where are you now?

I heard today about alleged threats against the boneheads who recently passed that hateful Obamacare bill.

The outrage in their recounting of the news made me want to check it out. As it turns out, the government controlled media is carrying tales of alleged threats. But I can't get too worked up for these people who think they can tread on our freedoms and expect no reprisals. Furthermore, I am doubtful that there is any truth to the allegations. I would sooner believe these are put forth as grist for the government controlled media to besmirch the character of all those who expect the constitution to be followed. No facts are necessary for them to report it as news.

For myself, I would never threaten anyone. It is a terribly stupid move whether the threat is serious or just blowing off steam. In the former case you throw away the element of surprise and expose yourself as a target unnecessarily. In the later, you invite trouble just to vent; not smart.

There were people living in colonial America who sided with the king. John Malcolm was such an individual. He reminds me of these people who don't care about the shredding of the constitution and are not concerned about the tyranny that is enveloping this country. This kind of talk is not politically correct, and I'm sure that most of the sheeple we live amongst will find it abhorrent. There are things worth fighting for. There are things worth dying for.

Chinese Court Coins New Term: ‘Temporary Rape'

A court in China coined a new legal term when punishing two policemen last month, saying they were guilty of the “temporary rape” of a high school graduate; they were given lenient sentences because of the pronouncement.

The two policemen took two high school graduates, who had just completed their college entrance exams, out to eat and drink on June 19. They all drank a lot, and one of the students, Ms. Chen became heavily drunk, as told in a China News Service article of Oct. 29. The policemen took her to a hotel under the pretext of “helping her to come to,” but then raped her while she was passed out.

The police later turned themselves in, and were put before a court. The Nanxun District Court of Huzhou County, Zhejiang Province, said in its verdict that the two police committed the crime of rape, but issued a light sentence of three years imprisonment, saying that they had “committed a temporary and on-the-spot crime, without premeditation,” according to Chinese state media. My opinion: This needs to be widely condemned, but who has the moral authority to speak these days? We murder the unborn and call it 'free choice'. How shameful!

Alex Jones has received a secret report distributed by the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) entitled “The Modern Militia Movement” and dated February 20, 2009. A footer on the document indicates it is “unclassified” but “law enforcement sensitive,” in other words not for public consumption. A copy of the report was sent to Jones by an anonymous Missouri police officer.

The MIAC report specifically describes supporters of presidential candidates Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, and Bob Barr as “militia” influenced terrorists and instructs the Missouri police to be on the lookout for supporters displaying bumper stickers and other paraphernalia associated with the Constitutional, Campaign for Liberty, and Libertarian parties.

Opinion: I always thought "covert" meant secret. How secret is something I read about in the NY Times?
I'm troubled that once again the executive branch of our government is waging an undeclared war. This is not surprising, since Obama said in the campaign that he would do this. Militarizing Afghanistan didn't work for the Brits or the Soviets, we will fare no better.
And our military will be squandered in this pointless war. Deaths and casualty counts will continue. By violating the sovereignty of Pakistan we risk expanding this war such that we may see the return of the draft (another horrendous evil). How will we know when we have succeeded?

"US Nation of Cowards"

WASHINGTON – Attorney General Eric Holder described the United States Wednesday as a nation of cowards on matters of race, saying most Americans avoid discussing awkward racial issues. In a speech to Justice Department employees marking Black History Month, Holder said the workplace is largely integrated but Americans still self-segregate on the weekends and in their private lives.
"Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and I believe continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards," said Holder, nation's first black attorney general.

Supreme Court Rules That It Is OK To Frisk Passengers

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that police officers have leeway to frisk a passenger in a car stopped for a traffic violation even if nothing indicates the passenger has committed a crime or is about to do so.

The court on Monday unanimously overruled an Arizona appeals court that threw out evidence found during such an encounter.

The case involved a 2002 pat-down search of an Eloy, Ariz., man by an Oro Valley police officer, who found a gun and marijuana.

The justices accepted Arizona's argument that traffic stops are inherently dangerous for police and that pat-downs are permissible when an officer has a reasonable suspicion that the passenger may be armed and dangerous.

The pat-down is allowed if the police "harbor reasonable suspicion that a person subjected to the frisk is armed, and therefore dangerous to the safety of the police and public," Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said.

My opinion: I am shocked and dismayed that our government wages yet another undeclared war, now against Pakistan.
And I hear no outcry from our congress or the media. I am not impressed by our technological superiority when there is no moral authority to govern its use. Shame!
