One more reason why Romney sucks

Give a listen

While this cooks Romney's goose with me, it doesn't do anything to help McCain. He is worse then Romney! One can only wonder why he runs as a republican. He clearly is a liberal.

Ron Paul Fights to Block Congressional Pay Raises

Congressman Ron Paul is an original cosponsor on legislation proposed by Representative Harry Mitchell (AZ-5) to block Members of Congress from receiving the automatic pay adjustment scheduled to take effect in 2009.

“With all the waste going on in government, the dollar losing its purchasing power, the collapse of the housing bubble, the economy is really struggling. We Members of Congress should not be padding our pocketbooks when our constituents are tightening their belts,” stated Congressman Paul.

The bill was introduced yesterday and so far Congressman Paul is the only cosponsor. Congressman Paul famously returns a portion of his congressional office budget to the Treasury. He recently estimated he would be able to return $75,000 from last year’s office budget. He also refuses to participate in the lucrative pension program that Congress has awarded itself.

Ron Paul Unveils a REAL Economic Stimulus Plan

Four-pronged approach will strengthen the economy by reforming taxes, cutting spending, improving monetary policy and eliminating burdensome regulations

January 24, 2008

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA –Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has unveiled a comprehensive economic revitalization package. The four-pronged plan is designed to stem the current economic slide and address the unsound governmental policies that are harming Americans’ pocketbooks.

“Real economic reform must address the underlying reasons for the current economic malaise,” said Ron Paul. “This plan is more than just a band-aid for our economy; it fundamentally reforms four areas where government policies are damaging our national economy. When enacted, my plan will provide both short-term stimulus, and lay the groundwork for long-term prosperity.”

The comprehensive economic revitalization plan is available online at: http://www.RonPaul2008.com/Prosperity.

The four areas that the plan covers are:

1. Tax Reform: Reduce the tax burden and eliminate taxes that punish investment and savings, including job-killing corporate taxes.

2. Spending Reform: Eliminate wasteful spending. Reduce overseas commitments. Freeze all non-defense, non-entitlement spending at current levels.

3. Monetary Policy Reform: Expand openness with the Federal Reserve and require the Fed to televise its meetings. Return value to our money.

4. Regulatory Reform: Repeal Sarbanes/Oxley regulations that push companies to seek capital outside of US markets. Stop restricting community banks from fostering local economic growth.

Congressman Paul has written or co-sponsored numerous bills to enact the policies in his plan. In Congress, he has been a champion of lower taxes and limited government.

Congressman Paul is the ranking member on the House Financial Services Committee's Subcommittee on Domestic and International Monetary Policy, Trade, and Technology. In Congress, Dr. Paul has never voted for a tax increase or for an unbalanced budget. Read the full article »

Ron Paul - 2nd place in Lousiana

Despite this good news, the GOP apparently will stop at nothing to derail Dr. Paul.

As reported in Ballot Access News, "It appears that Ron Paul supporters outnumbered the supporters of any of his opponents. But since this was predicted, the supporters of Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, John McCain, and Mitt Romney, cooperated to set up a "fusion" slate of unpledged candidates for Delegate. The "fusion" slate, labeled the "Pro-Life/Pro-Family" slate, beat the Ron Paul slate in each of the 7 U.S. House districts. Formally, the "fusion" slate billed itself as an "uncommitted" slate, and no one really knows how many supporters of each presidential candidate are on the fusion slate, except the campaigns themselves."

According to the Louisiana GOP, preliminary results indicate that an "uncommitted 'Pro-Life/Pro-Family' slate appears to have won a majority of delegates in all seven congressional districts."

This unprecedented uniting of GOP candidates to stop Ron Paul clearly shows that the GOP agenda is apparently to stop Ron Paul at all costs.

A poem from Mother's collection

I came across this and thought it worth sharing.

The years have taught me many things
But none so sure as this,
That shelter, solace, joy and strength
Are always where God is.

So now, when hope and courage fail
And only fear is strong,
My heart will sing as in the past,
an unforgotten song.

God is my refuge and my strength,
I will not be afraid,
And though the night be wild and dark,
I'll meet it undismayed.

You won't hear this in the MSM

"If you don't trust gold, do you trust the logic of taking a pine tree, worth $4,000-$5,000, cutting it up, turning it into pulp, putting some ink on it and then calling it one billion dollars?"
- Kenneth J. Gerbino

They are not telling you that the Federal Reserve's 75 basis point cut in the interest rate is going to inflate the money supply, causing still more price inflation. Your savings will be worth less. Your pay check will buy less. And the big financial interests that have the first access to this new money will be able to buy things cheap, before the price increases hit.

The media won't tell you that this Fed inflation is theft, transferring wealth from the poor and middle class to those who are first in line to receive the Fed's funny money. Instead of telling you the truth, the media continues to blame our current economic problems on rising oil prices. But those of you who are old enough to remember the 1970s should know better . . .

The media told us the same lies in the 1970s. They told us that high oil prices were causing all other prices to rise. They told us we needed the Fed to create more and more money to boost the economy. But they created more and more new money and the boost never came. All we got were higher and higher prices, and slower and slower economic growth. They called it "stagflation" -- inflation combined with a stagnant economy.

According to the pet theories of the Establishment's so-called experts, stagflation was supposed to be impossible. But it was all too real. Now we are seeing this old pattern repeated. We have price inflation. We have companies in trouble. We have all the signs of a coming stagflation -- recession and rising prices at the same time. And once again the Establishment is giving us the same old song and dance . . .

We need the Fed to create more money, they tell us. High oil prices are the problem, they claim. And the verdict on these assertions will be the same as it was in the 1970s. The stagflation of the 1970s was only ended when the new Federal Reserve Chairman, Paul Volker, stopped creating new money out of thin air. Those of you who were alive then will remember . . .

The adjustment was painful. Unemployment rose to 11% for a brief period as the economy corrected itself and purged all the bad investments that had been made during the inflationary 70s. But then the economy took off again, giving us nearly 20 years of growth, and rising standards of living.

Don't drink the Establishment's poison kool-aid. The only way to reduce the pain of the coming economic correction is to stop pouring fuel on the fire. The Fed must stop creating new money. The government should also cut spending and stop borrowing, to make more real capital (not funny money) available to create jobs.

This is the only path back to economic health. It worked before, it can work now, and the sooner we start the better it will go.

Help us change the environment, both in public, and in Congress. Share this message with the others. Then tell Congress that you know the truth. Send Congress a message asking them to pass Ron Paul's "Honest Money Act," which will create conditions that will make it harder for the Fed to inflate the money supply.

Economic Stimulus? - please spare us

There is much talk recently about our economic woes.
Many of the politicians are talking about how the country needs a stimulus.
They want to give away money so that people will spend it and that will make everything better somehow.
I fail to see how that fixes anything. In fact, it will make matters worse because the money they either borrow or print to "stimulate" the economy will result in either the further debasing of the dollar and/or inflation.

If they REALLY want to stimulate the economy here is a list of things I think would help:
  • Balance the budget
  • Stop printing money
  • End the war
  • Reduce the size of government
  • Cut taxes (individual and corporate)
  • Eliminate the Death tax
  • Eliminate the AMT (Alternate Minimum Tax)
Just my humble opinion.

We are thus in the position of having to borrow from Europe to defend Europe, of having to borrow from China and Japan to defend Chinese and Japanese access to Gulf oil, and of having to borrow from Arab emirs, sultans and monarchs to make Iraq safe for democracy. We borrow from the nations we defend so that we may continue to defend them. To question this is an unpardonable heresy called 'isolationism.'

The collapse of the US Dollar

Imagine being sent forward in time from 1968 to 2008. Instead of gas costing 25 cents a gallon, it's $3.00 or more. A decent home, intead of costing $15,000, costs $250,000 or more. Imagine your shock that the average American family owes $9000 on their credit cards. Imagine entering a society where less than 2% of the cars on the road are owned by those that drive them, and less than 1% of the homes are owned by the people who live in them. Welcome to the debt based slave state of America in 2008. It is all symbolic of how the globalists have America right where they want it, and are eager to finish it off. Read the article

Mission 2008 - To become more like God

What a worthwhile goal! I was challenged this last Sunday by Tim's message based on 1 Peter 1:3-8. It's so easy to get swept up in transient issues of life and neglect what's really important. Anyway I suggest reading this slowly and think about the words.
v3 "seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.

v4 For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.

v5 Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in moral excellence, knowledge,

v6
and in knowledge, self-control, and in self-control, perseverance, and in perseverance, godliness,

v7 and in godliness, brotherly kindness, and in brotherly kindness, love.

v8 For if these are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Truth is not always mainstream

I suppose it's normal to get comfortable with the things you hear over and over. Then someone comes along and speaks a truth you either haven't heard before or were misinformed about. It can upset your world view.

Maybe that's why a lot of those otherwise nice, well meaning R's get their knickers in a knot when Dr. Paul says something the mainstream media and other candidates don't agree with. So rather than questioning the accuracy, they attack the messenger. Rather than dealing in facts, they turn to name calling and character assassination.

Here is an article about how some of the conservative heavyweights are speaking up for Dr. Paul.
